Criteria:

  • Must be dependent¹ children of full time, active, retired, deceased, or laid off employees² of The Timken Company³ who have a minimum of three years of employment with the company as of the application deadline date.
    1.Dependent children are defined as biological, stepchildren or legally adopted children living in the employee's household or primarily supported by the employee.
    2.Employees must have been employed three years at the time of retirement, death, or lay off. Children of laid off employees are eligible for two years after the date of lay off.
    3.Includes The Timken Company, its subsidiaries and majority owned (75% or greater) Joint Ventures.
  • Must be high school seniors or in final year of upper or higher secondary school.
  • Plan to enroll in full time undergraduate study at an accredited college or university for the entire 2015-2016 academic year with the intent of earning a bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • The children of former associates who have left the company due to termination or voluntary exit are not eligible. Children of the members of the Board of Directors of the Timken Company, the Executive Council (CEO and direct reports of the CEO) of The Timken Company or the trustees of the Timken Company Charitable and Educational Fund, Inc. are ineligible.
  • Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, a statement of educational and career goals, and the Applicant Appraisal
  • Preference for the $10,000 awards will be given to students enrolling in science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields.

Amount: Range from $10,000 - $35,000
